Festive greetings from Pearly!
I hope everyone is set for the usual ordeal of Christmas, 'logs on the fire' etc.. I thought I'd write and say Merry Christmas from the band.
I have to say that I have been having many a good night out recently what with Christmas bashes and other things, but on Monday I went to Seafood's Christmas Spectacular at On the Rocks in Shoreditch (Pronounced with the emphasis on Shore.. was that in 'TV Go Home'? Nevermind...). I went straight from work and took my place done the front row, they were giving out free mince pies at the door and there was a lovely vibe in the place. Anyway, 1st band was a novelty act, 2nd band The Loose Salute were excellent (Sort of Alt. Country with cool harmonies) and Seafood were amazing, I've seen them 4 times now and I think that the only reason they are not more popular is that they make a different kind of alternative rock music which covers a lot of different ground. This obviously means that the main channels of media don't really know what to make of them I think as they don't fit into a box very easily. The annoying thing is that they urinate all over the likes of Razorlight, The Libertines or anything from that whole 'New Rock' thing which is obviously a journalistic invention created in order to have something to write about. The funny thing is that I remember Snow Patrol supporting Seafood at the Electric Ballroom and thinking they were just ok and now look at them! All Seafood should do is write a slow-burning-shite-lyriced song and make a video like Coldplay and they'd be set! Anyway, Seafood are great blah-blah.. music industry.. blah.. media shite.. blah, I had a wicked night and will continue to find Seafood an inspiration to rock!
Sorry, I should save this stuff for their message board.. anyway, have a good Christmas. I think the new year is going to be very fruitful, roll on The Tour!!
